🥊 Main Event of the Week
No one could have predicted it, except perhaps an oracle. Wait a minute!...
Oracle just beat Microsoft in a deal for Tiktok's US operations, saving millions of American kids from a mental breakdown.
But don't get too excited...
This deal only offers Oracle a place as a "US technology partner". And Trump, who recently threatened a US ban on the app, might not be happy with the arrangements.
Instagram, who recently launched its Titktok rival feature "Instagram Reels", might even find a way to steal the spotlight...
So. Are you ready to RUUUMBLE?
✅ Quick Overview
📌Nasdaq rebounds by almost 2% on Monday after worst week since March
📌U.S. labor market & broader economy made some major gains this week
📌Nvidia catapulted into geopolitical tensions between Beijing and Washington
📌Apple comin’ in hot with a new line of products
📌Disney's “Mulan” hit by political controversy
Vine → Tiktok → Instagram??🤔
👁 Sneak peek into the future
Insta Takes Ova’
When your concept isn't so hard to copy, you better start dominating the market. Fast! And Tiktok delivered on that front. But in these tumultuous times, anyone can come in and steal your thunder. Especially a big and resourceful company like Facebook.
(Stealing concepts starts to become a recurrent theme for Zuckerberg, who took his big hit idea from two guys he was working for in college.)
But let's see how all of this could play out:
It’s now December 2020. And the deal with Oracle was, just like Microsoft predicted, too loose on privacy concerns. As it turns out, the Chinese government had been pushing their propaganda and collecting private information on people for months. They certainly didn't intend to stop there 😈…
And so, the seemingly inoffensive launch of Instagram's latest feature last month came to the rescue.
Instagram became the shoulder to cry on for worried Tiktokers. And as much as 70% of the best content creators made the jump.
"Join the dark side" —Said Mark Zuckerberg to young kids shaking their ass on camera. "We got dat' dough and clout waiting for y’all !"
And that they did…
(Really active) audiences followed their idols on Instagram (where the WAPs were now taking place). And creators took over!
👉Brand deals were handed out like blowjobs in the 70's. Top creators finally managed to create real brands for themselves, as they were now considered influencers, not just “Tiktokers”. And they lived happily ever after, all thanks to our beloved Facebook.
Hopefully, this will make people think twice about protecting their brand and product in the future.

Protecting an Idea
It's not common to see your stolen idea turning your thief into a MULTI-BILLIONAIRE. But it happens ! The most notorious example of that being Facebook.
We hate to break it to you, but many young entrepreneurs get fucked quite the same way. Fired up about their ideas, they end up talking about it to everyone. And it doesn’ take a genius to figure out how it usually ends…
Put simply :
An idea cannot be protected per se, but the process of that idea becoming a reality can.
This protection consists of a bunch of intellectual property protection tools, that can be used alone or combined. These include:
Patents (to cover the process of creation)
Models (to cover the designs)
Trademarks (for your name, slogan, etc…)
Copyrights (to protect your writings)
Keep in mind that it’s also not always good to keep your ideas for yourself. Cuz’ you might sit on them for ages.
So, if you wanna get started, here are 2 simple and friendly rules to prevent it from being stolen by somebody else:
1. Talk about it briefly to trustworthy people who can ACTUALLY be of value.
2. Shut the fuck up otherwise…
Above all, remember to trust your guts!
🤯 FACC!
Who´s laughing now?
In 1963, Harvey Ball drew a sketch for an insurance company; Two dots and a smile, inside a yellow circle. He charged them $45 and didn’t think too much about it.
A couple of years later, Franklin and Nicolas Loufrani bought the legal rights for it and went on to make what is now known as one of the biggest licensing companies in the world. It’s been around for more than 40 years and brought a revenue of €185 million in 2016.
*Harvey in his grave now*
Believe in yourself and believe in your dreams. Every idea has its potential, and if you don´t see it, someone else will 😉
